Stunning Bruisyard Hall Wedding - Sophie + Sam

Wow — that’s honestly the only word that comes to mind when I think back to Sophie and Sam’s Bruisyard Hall wedding in May. It was a joyful, energetic, and beautifully relaxed Suffolk wedding day, set at one of my all-time favourite venues.

Bruisyard Hall has long held a very special place in my heart. Anyone who follows me on social media will know just how much I adore this venue! I first photographed a wedding here around 13 years ago as a second shooter, back when Bruisyard had only just started hosting weddings. From that very first visit, I was completely hooked, the history, the charm, and the atmosphere are second to none. I’ve always said that if I ever got married, Bruisyard Hall would be my dream wedding venue.

Sophie and Sam had originally planned to hold their ceremony on the lawn beside the hall. However, after a heavy downpour the night before left the ground too wet, the decision was made to move the ceremony to the front of the house instead. Honestly? I loved it even more. Every corner of Bruisyard Hall is incredibly photogenic, but having the front of the hall as their ceremony backdrop made the day feel even more special and intimate.

From a photographer’s point of view, the weather was absolute perfection. A slightly overcast sky creates the most beautiful soft light, no harsh shadows and gorgeous, even tones. The rain from the night before also meant the colours of the day were rich and vibrant, making the photographs truly pop. This is exactly why I love photographing outdoor weddings in Suffolk.

From the moment the celebrations began, it was clear that Sophie and Sam’s guests were there to fully embrace the day. The energy was incredible, so much fun, laughter, and enthusiasm, with everyone more than happy to get involved in every photo idea I suggested. These are the kinds of weddings I absolutely love to photograph.

I was also lucky enough to work alongside the incredibly talented videographer Dan Oaten. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out his Instagram to see a preview of Sophie and Sam’s wedding film.

Sophie and Sam, thank you again for trusting me to capture your Bruisyard Hall wedding. It was an absolute joy from start to finish, and I truly hope our paths cross again very soon.
