Stunning Bruisyard Hall Wedding - Sophie + Sam
Wow!!! That’s honestly the only word that comes to mind when I think back to Sophie and Sam’s wedding in May this year.
Bruisyard Hall has long held a special place in my heart, no secret there, as I rave about it all the time on my socials!! I first photographed a wedding there as a second shooter about 13 years ago, back when they’d only just started hosting weddings. From that very first visit, I was hooked. The charm, the history, the atmosphere, I just loved it all instantly. I've always said that if I ever got married, Bruisyard would be my dream venue.
Originally, Sophie and Sam had planned to hold their ceremony on the lawn beside the hall. But a downpour the night before left the ground too wet, so the decision was made to move everything to the front of the house instead. And honestly? I loved it even more. Every corner of Bruisyard Hall is photogenic, but having the front of the hall as the backdrop made it feel even more special.
And the weather? Perfection. From a photographer’s point of view, a slightly overcast sky is a dream. Soft light, no harsh shadows, and the colours of the day just popped thanks to the rain the night before.
From the start, it was clear that Sophie and Sam’s guests were there to celebrate in full force. They brought so much fun and energy, and were totally game for every photo idea I threw their way!
I was also lucky enough to team up with the amazing videographer Dan Oaten. Make sure you check out his Instagram for a preview of the video.
Sophie and Sam, thank you again for trusting me to capture your day. It was an absolute joy, and I hope our paths cross again soon!
